Congratulations to Cindi!

Whats_itCongratulations to Cindi--winner of the contest! Yep, that's an heirloom lemon cucumber! I ordered some heirloom seeds and got a free packet of seeds for these. I had never heard of them before--maybe I'll grow more next year. They were pretty easy to grow from seed. I had lots of tomatoes, plus Daddy had a bunch so I canned some salsa last night. I ended up with one quart, one half pint and 6 pints. Doesn't seem like much for all the work! Right now I'm getting a lot from my garden--seems like the squash, okra and cucumbers are slowing down, but now I'm getting onions & beans. The watermelons and some winter squash are almost ready and I have a few Jack be Little pumpkins ready.

Cat_fightSo Pumpkin had a problem the other night....he was playing with Mr. Spock and apparently things got a little rough. I couldn't resist taking his picture before I helped him out!! He's full of energy and sometimes its funny to see him trying his best to get the older kitties to get up and play!

The_big_kids Here's a picture of the "big kids"--Tara, Jeffrey & Tyler. When in the world did they all get so grown up? Jeffrey's about ready to get his driver's license--maybe I can start sending him on some errands for me!! I'll miss them when they go to school--they spend a lot of time at the office, which is about a mile from here so I can just pop in when I get time. There is usually at least one of them there at all times!

Typewriter1 I picked up this typewriter a few months ago and thought I'd just display it in my office like it is. But now I'm thinking I might want to take off the keys and use them, but how in the world do you do that? If you know, tell me! lol! I just can't figure it out.....

New contest!

Whats_it Do you know what this is??? Its something I grew in my garden....the first person to correctly guess what it is by posting a comment on this post will win a prize from me! Just be sure to check your email so you can send me your address if you win. I'm not saying what the prize is yet--it will be a surprise, but it will be something good!!

Dexter This is my nephew's new puppy, Dexter. He's half Saint Bernard/Half Great Pyrenees and he is the cutest thing. He ran off Sunday morning while Tyler was gone to visit his Mom and we spent the entire week looking for him! We put up posters, put it on the radio, in the newspaper, called all the vets and the pound. Tyler came home Friday morning and we got a call about him Saturday morning. He wasn't lost close to my house, but he ended up right at the end of my street. I'm surprised I didn't see him because I turn right by that house every day!

Jacksonpapa  I kept Jackson yesterday....always fun! This is him playing with his Papa (my Daddy). They surely were having a good time!! I wanted a picture of them playing together but (of course) the batteries went dead while I was taking these!

PunkinIf you're wondering what the kitties have been doing....just hanging out and being lazy! I wish I could get as comfy on the couch as Pumpkin does!

I'm making some progress on the pile of dolls I've been working on for so long. Maybe I'll get new patterns on my site pretty soon! I did get a free pattern listed--I hope y'all all got to download it so you can make it for Halloween!

Speaking of Halloween Tyler & I went on Amazon.com to look for a copy of Frankenweenie. Have you seen it? If not, you have to....its really cute, in a Tim Burton kind of way. As usual I ordered a bunch of other stuff. I got a book about planning Halloween parties, some Halloween mad libs for Tyler and another Halloween book for us to read!

New FREE pattern!

Jackboxes_2  I have another free pattern on my website! This is another one that will be on one of the Sheryl Borden episodes. You can go to The Cat's Pyjamas Patterns and click on the free patterns category to download the free pattern. If you haven't already, download them all while you're there!

I have had lots of stuff going on and not posting a lot on my blog. I hope I'm getting caught up now so I can share with you what all has been going on. Seems like I run out of time every day!

Happy Fourth!

Happy4th_2 Hope y'all had a good Fourth of July celebration! We cooked hot dogs on the grill at Momma's, then made smores for dessert. I stopped to buy some sparklers on the way but they were out!!

I have decided to try to raise money for a shed to go behind my studio for my "cat stuff". It will be for keeping supplies (food, litter, playpen for keeping up cats when they need it, live traps, etc) and the cats would be able to sleep in there too. The price for the shed is approximately $3000, plus having the spot leveled and a pad poured for it. I'm starting out by trying to raise $2000 to go towards the shed--hopefully some of y'all can help out! The site for donations is https://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2008-07-05.1454470179

Sept_2042Yesterday was Sweet Pea's FIFTH birthday! I can't believe he's already five...he still seems like a kitten to me! Unfortunately he wasn't feeling well on his birthday, but he is better now. I sang happy Birthday to him--that probably helped!

Somebody needs a new home...

We_need_a_home_2I got an email about these two gorgeous Great Danes that need a home....I wish I had a bigger house so I could bring them here. I always wanted a Great Dane...or a French Bulldog. lol! I thought I'd post their pictures here to see if there is someone who would love them and pamper them. They are in Deatsville, AL right now (about 25 mi. from Montgomery) with Melinda. She says they were given up because the owner no longer wanted them. They are black, 3 years old, very sweet and good with kids. If you think you can give them a good home, email Melinda at melinda@lazymfarm.us. Oh...forgot to mention that they will  be spayed!

Bell_peppersI think my garden is getting out of hand...ha! I have so many squash I'm giving them away to all my family. Too many cucumbers too. I'm not complaining though--I'm glad everything is doing well so far! Right now we're getting squash, cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, dill, okra, lettuce, radishes, onions. Soon we will have corn, beans, tomatoes. We have lots of winter squash & watermelons, but I don't know when they will be ready. And the pumpkins all have big blooms. I did some canning yesterday--I made some garlic pepper jelly, red onion marmalade and some pepper sauce. I was going to make chow chow too from the giant head of cabbage my Daddy sent, but I just ran out of time, so that will be on the agenda today! I've also put up some dill pickle relish, squash relish and crabapple jelly. (Can't wait to make some vegetable soup!)

For some reason instead of staying up all night and sleeping late, I have been Strawberrygoing to bed early and waking up around 4 or 4:30. I hate it! I like to get up early, but not before daylight! Yesterday I was so exhausted I laid down for a nap around 4 and slept until 6. I was up for a few minutes when my husband called to say he was going to eat supper with his parents, so I just went back to bed and slept until 4 this morning. I really hoped I could sleep until a normal hour, but here I am!! My poor kitties can't figure out my new schedule! Bilbo was knocking at the bedroom door when he heard me get up at 4!

SissyI'm still working on all those dolls....its just taking a long time. As you can see, Sissy has decided they are just a nice soft bed for her to sleep on! ;) I did have to move them or they would be mashed flat and all hairy when I got ready to paint them!! My niece and I are doing a show on August 31 and I'm just taking my jewelry (and she may take some purses) so I've been working a lot on some new jewelry to take with me. I think I need a few more hours in the day!! :)
