I finally finished all those dolls....what a huge pile of dolls I have now! They are all tagged and ready for my show. And I have several new ones on my site. Here are just a few photos....got to my website to see all the new ones!
This is Candace...one of my favorites! I needlesculpted her nose & eyebrows and painted her eyes, mouth & freckles. I had her finished for a few days, then I decided she needed a little more....something. So I took off to wal-mart to buy all kinds of trims & ribbons. I guess I got carried away, but they were having a great sale. I know the lady working there must have thougth I was crazy when I brought a big armload of trims to be cut....then went back for more. She started out as a blonde, then I put straight black hair....now this strawberry blonde seems to be the perfect fit!!
This is Rudy...my other favorite. I just love the expression on his face!! I made him from muslin, painted him, and used antiquing medium over all that, mixed with some vanilla flavoring. I baked him to dry and the whole house smelled so good! All my new dolls have lots of trim & bright, Spring colors. I guess my style is changing somewhat....I hope that is a good thing! :) I've stocked up on paint & fabrics in teals, pinks, whites & purples. I guess when Halloween & Christmas time comes around I'll be ready for those darker colors I have stashed away.
What have the kitties been into, you ask? Not too much....Sweet Pea brought me a pair of red gloves tonight. He loves to pile up socks and gloves. And if he wants in the room with you where the door is closed he will bring you one or the other and cry for you to open the door. When you do, he will drop your socks or gloves at your feet and run in. And how could you turn down a kitty this sweet? He's been with me since he was 1 day old! So just imagine how spoiled he is! He fit in the palm of my hand the day I brought him home. Now he's a big ol' boy!
Here is my first free pattern! Click on the photo on the left to get the free pattern! All I ask is if you use the pattern, give me credit. You can use it as a stitchery, painting, or even to make some little eggs as bowl fillers or for your dolls to hold! I'd love to see photos of what you do with the pattern.
I donated a pattern for the contest at Grapevine Hollow too--a pattern for a heart make-do. There are only a few days left, so hurry to http://www.grapevinehollow.com to enter. Click on the News/contest button and follow the instructions.
Good night for now!
